Calder Re_Wired.Calder created a toy circus which for many decades entertained thousands, both here and abroad. One portion of our show will exaggerate the jolly characters of that circus; including Msr. Loyal, Ring Master. He will lead a circus parade including a stilt walker and trained elephant. Later, audiences will see the brave lion tamer taking on a ferocious lion. In the tradition of Picasso People, Calder's art will come alive for audiences of all ages. |
A Standards Based Arts In Education Program designed to act as a springboard for targeted art activities spanning multiple grade levels. The production will involve elements of Calder's Circus, Universe, wire sculpture, mobiles and stabiles. Mask, music, mime and puppetry will enliven the diverse master works of Alexander (Sandy) Calder. |
